Shipping

On this page you can find (a little bit of) information in regards to our shipping policy’s.

Merchandise Note:
If you’re searching for information about our Merchandise shop, then please consult the XNL Merchandise Shop Information page instead.

Basically due to the fact that we don’t offer tangible (physical) goods, we in general don’t offer any special shipping terms and/or options.
If however in an event of a giveaway for example goods, promotional items or anything else will have to be shipped to you, we will do so using our regular national shipping company (which also handles international shipping). We might (if this turns out to be a more cost effective or secure option) also decide to use a different shipping company including but not limited to: UPS, FedEx, GLS, dpdgroup or any other delivery company suitable for the delivery. The shipment company might also depend on whether if we are shipping an product, (promotional) item or ‘giveaway’ ourselves or directly via/from a supplier, manufacturer or sponsor for example.

DHL Notice: Unless there is absolutely no other means of transportation, we (unfortunately) will try to avoid using DHL. This is not just to be ‘against one company’, but unfortunately due to the fact that we’ve lost way to many packages when using DHL services. This mainly happened with international shipments but unfortunately we also had this issue three times with our local DHL office. Due to these circumstances we’ve lost orders from simple things like a couple of thousand LED’s to even expensive prototype’s. So as you might understand: We will try to avoid using them for shipping products, items or giveaway items to our members. DISCLAIMER: This is not meant as a general review of DHL and/or it’s services, this is a factual statement which we can back-up (with actual evidence) on our own experiences with DHL in the past on why we don’t use DHL and had to ‘sell no‘ to multiple shipment requests.

Giveaway warranties
Unless otherwise stated by for example our sponsor(s), no warranties can be claimed on giveaway prices either with XNL Future Technologies, our sponsor(s) or the manufacturer(s). This part is included here because this ‘warranty exclusion’ also includes products, items or other goods which are either damaged or ‘dead’ on arrival.

Do we use ‘insured shipping’?
NO, we usually do not use insured shipping or shipment tracking when this would involve extra additional costs. This simply due to the fact that this would make giveaways much more expensive, and thus resulting in (much) less opportunities to do so. If you however really insist (for any reason) to use insured shipping and are willing to either ‘split the costs’ or even pay for shipment completely, then you can always contact us directly to discuss the possibilities. Do note though, that this ‘offer’ is only possible for items, products or other (giveaway) goods which are directly shipped from our own location. We do not have (full) control over which shipment options third-party’s use when shipping via them.

Shipment Lost, Damaged or other issues regarding the shipment(s)
Firstly let us be very clear and open upfront: We in general do not offer replacements on giveaways either broken on arrival or where the package has ‘gone missing’ during transit. This due to for example limited availability or it even being a ‘rare one-time item/offer’. Do however contact us when a package has been lost in transit, so that we can contact the shipment company in regards to this issue and see if they can be held responsible for it in any way. Please do note and realize that these shipment company’s often have ‘airtight disclaimers’ which often result in ‘no compensation’ if such an event occurs. Unfortunately (due to several bad experiences in the past) we simply have to state: Shipping is at your own risk (at the risk of the receiver). And thus we will not offer any replacements or any other type of compensation in such events.

Taxes, duties and postal handling fees
When receiving one or more (requested) packages from XNL Future Technologies, one of our suppliers or one of our sponsors, all federal, state and/or local income and other taxes and duties (including but not limited to customs and postal handling fees), if any, are at the receivers sole responsibility.
XNL Future Technologies nor will her ‘shipment processors’ be held accountable for the payment of your taxes, fees or other duties.
Therefor it is advised that you check your local regulations and with your ‘tax and postal agency’s’ which (additional) costs might (possibly) be involved for you before placing an order or participating in giveaways. Please do note that this also applies to you if you’re residing in The Netherlands but our shipment is being sent directly from our supplier, manufacturer of sponsor abroad!

Note: Unless otherwise stated (that for example a sponsor states that they will pay for all duties and such), these rules always apply to all our shipments!

Where do the shipment(s) originate from on for example giveaways?
We understand your concern due to possible Taxes, duties etc when you participate in giveaways or so, therefor we will always clearly try to state from which country/location we’re shipping products, goods or promotional items. Do keep in mind that this can be a bit different when the items are supplied directly through a sponsor. When items are directly shipped from one of our sponsors, you should always check their conditions, terms and shipment origin to prevent ‘unexpected surprises’.

Global Shipments

Giveaway shipment costs
In general XNL Future Technologies or our sponsor will pay for shipment(s) in regards of giveaways, unless stated otherwise. There might however be (rare) occasions in which we for example offer to ship a special (but ‘very heavy’) item like an ‘vintage VCR’, where we do require the recipient to pay for shipping (or at least participate in shipping costs) if such item would introduce ‘abnormal shipping costs’.

Shipment Destination
Depending on shipment costs, availability, or even postal limitations due to political situations we might not be able to ship to every destination. Wherever possible we will always try to include which regions would be eligible for receiving shipments/giveaway at said promotional event.

Local/National Shipments

In The Netherlands we do use shipping for various products or services, most of our shipments within The Netherlands will be processed by PostNL.

We will always try to use the most cost effective shipment method when shipping giveaway items, this could for example mean that some items would be shipped without (any) tracking-code per ‘mailbox mail’ while others would be send per ‘package courier’ and default track-and-trace.

Extra note on Taxes and duties for Dutch Receivers
Do keep in mind that despite the fact that we are located in The Netherlands, that it is still possible that some shipments of us might be shipped directly from other suppliers or manufactures which can be located anywhere around the world including but not limited to: China, The United States of America, Japan, Taiwan, The United Kingdom etc. For such packages it is still possible that you might have to pay import fees, duties or postal handling fees. These fees will not be payed or reimbursed in any way by XNL Future Technologies, and thus it will be your own responsibility to pay these taxes, duties or fees.
If we ship such product, item or giveaway from a different location than The Netherlands, we will always try to clearly state this in advance for said promotional event.

Aside from theses ‘small differences’ the same ‘rules’ for both national as international shipments.

Social Media (Twitter)
On some parts of our website we have embedded our Twitter Timeline. We have enabled the 'do-not-track'/advanced privacy options for the Twitter feed and thus it should not track or store any information about you. Because Twitter still does store (quite a few) cookies when using the do-not-track features, we do require you to give your consent to enable the Twitter Feed and thus to let Twitter place cookies by enabling our Twitter timeline. We suspect that the cookies set by the Twitter Timeline are indeed anonymized, but obviously there is no 100% guarantee that this is actually correct because we don't have control over those cookies. Some of the cookies which are set by the Twitter timeline have been listed bellow, but as with many 'externally embedded content': It is impossible for us to list them all due to the fact that external content providers (unfortunately) can just 'randomly change' the way their software works.
CookieDurationDescription
_twitter_sesssessionThis cookie allows the use of Twitter features without having to log in, and contains some tracking information that Twitter uses to improve their services. (However IF Twitter indeed does what it says, the tracking part should be disabled due to the DNT (do not track) setting).
# IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!variousThis is additional information, not a cookie! The cookies listed here are just a few of the cookies which will be set by the Twitter Timeline, there are (quite a lot of) other cookies which are also set by the Embedded Twitter Timeline when it's enabled. We do have enabled the enhanced privacy options ("do not track") features of Twitter for this Timeline, we however (of course) do not have control over possible cookies set and/or created by externally embedded content. This is also the reason why we disable the content altogether when you don't allow their cookies. You can view which cookies exactly are being placed by websites using the developer console of your browser, where and how to find this depends on your browser, but for most browsers this can be opened using F12 on your keyboard. Please make sure that you understand that externally embedded content (like the Twitter Timeline) does place additional cookies which we are not able to all list here!

(Externally provided) Advertisements
We do our best efforts to tell our ad-provider (Google AdSense) to only use non-personalized ads, and that it is not allowed to store user identifiable or tracking cookies. We explain in detail on our Privacy Policy page how we do this. But since we "trust" those big companies as much as the next person, and the fact that they do still place 'other cookies' which are necessary to deliver these non personalized advertisements, we do still require you to consent to these cookies before we will actually allow our website to show advertisements by AdSense. Bellow we've listed the cookie which is placed from within our own domain by our advertisement provider, but please keep in mind that external advertisement providers often place a 'crapload of cookies', even when using 'non-tracking-settings'. Unfortunately we are not able to list them all here because they can just 'randomly change' due to the fact that these cookies are externally controlled. NOTE: This does not include our own Direct Sponsor Advertisements, these are already 100% privacy safe, and do not use ANY tracking, statistics or cookies.

We do have enabled the enhanced privacy options ("do not track") features for these advertisements, meaning they should only show completely unrelated and non personalized advertisements.  We however (of course) do not have control over possible cookies set and/or created by externally embedded content. This is also the reason why we disable the content altogether when you don't allow their cookies. Embedded Video Content (YouTube etc)
We use 'special tags/settings' like 'Enable privacy-enhanced mode' which should prevent external embedded media like YouTube videos from placing cookies on your system, however since we (of course) don't have full control over what external embedded content does, and that we did encounter such players placing (seemingly! non tracking) cookies anyway, we do require you to allow (potential) cookies set by Embedded video players on our website(s) before we can allow them to be rendered on the webpage. Websites like YouTube also state that they will not place cookies until you play the video, even if we use the -nocookie function of YouTube. We however had different results during various tests, and despite that these cookies SEEM to be non tracking, we do require your permission to allow such content to be rendered. The cookie we always see being placed by YouTube (despite using the NOCOOKIE option) is:

The cookie listed here are just a few of the cookies which can be set by the embedded video player(s), During multiple tests did not encounter any other cookies being placed by the embedded player accept about 4 ("randomly named") cookies once or twice during some extensive testing while using Chrome (other browsers did not seemed to do this). We however (of course) do not have control over possible cookies set and/or created by externally embedded content. This is also the reason why we disable the content altogether when you don't allow their cookies. CONSENT11 monthsThis cookie is placed by the youtube-nocookie.com domain, we suspect that it is used to tell the player that 'consent for cookies or user-tracking' is pending (and thus should not happen) because the data within this cookie says: "PENDING+162". However we unfortunately can't confirm this because there is almost no other website or information available about this cookie. And despite the fact that almost ANY website with "GDPR Compliance Tips" tells you to "just use the YouTube-nocookie feature" to be GDRP Compliant without having to ask user consent, we do not agree! Due to the simple fact that it does still place this cookie. And due to the fact that when enabling the "YouTube Privacy Enhanced feature" it gives a popup saying:  "When you turn on privacy-enhanced mode, YouTube won't store information about visitors unless they play the video.", we just don't like this kind of 'sketchy behavior' and thus require you to allow such cookies and content before we will actually display it.
