XNL Development Boards (Re-)Released
We are pleased to announce that we have ‘mass-(re-)released’ several of our microcontroller development boards at once today.
Some of these boards where already available in our previously closed community (mainly TeamXNL), but now these are all fully publicly available. They all contain fully updated documentation (datasheet/manual PDF’s), lots of information has been revised while other information might be a bit outdated in those documents, this however should not be a problem because the information in those documents basically still applies 🙂
NOTE: Some of the older users might recognize a few boards in the banner above which haven’t been re-released (yet), we can’t (and won’t) make any promises if those boards will also make it to a re-release though.
Which boards have been (re-)released
We have (re-)released several boards intended for the ATMega MCU’s, two boards for the STM32 (ARM) CPU, a few either intended for or supporting the ESP8266 and our USB->TTL Serial Communication board.
ATMega/Arduino Compatible Boards (ATMega328):
- XNL LABUNO Classic/Legacy (no onboard USB or ‘serial chip’)
- XNL LABUNO USB (More modern and recommended to use)
- XNL LABUNO Overkill Edition (yeah, the name says it all 😉)
STM32F103C & BluePill Boards:
- XNL STAR-3 (Permanently installed STM32F103C on the board itself)
- XNL STAR-3-MB (Basically an ‘extended motherboard’ for the BluePill module)
ESP8266 Board(s) and Boards Supporting ESP8266 (ESP-01 & ESP-12) Development:
- XNL WESP (ESP-12E Board/Module)
- XNL LABUNO Classic (Directly Supports ESP-01 & ESP-12E (using the XNL WESP) development)
- XNL LABUNO USB (Directly Supports ESP-01 & ESP-12E (using the XNL WESP) development)
- XNL LABUNO Overkill Edition (Directly Supports ESP-01 & ESP-12E (using the XNL WESP) development)
XNL USB->TTL Serial Communication:
- XNL F.U.T.S. (Full USB to TTL Serial) Adapter
Some additional small (complimentary) releases
We have also re-released some additional (complimentary) boards which are for example intended for the XNL LABUNO Classic (like the XNL Logic Monitor and the XNL ESP Direct Adapter). We however recommend to no longer use these boards, simply because they basically have became obsolete since the XNL LABUNO USB. We did however decided to (re-)release them anyway for the sake of completeness in regards to the XNL LABUNO Classic.
More projects and/or products will follow as soon as possible
Of course these are not all the projects and/or products from our previous (private/closed) platform(s) yet, we are however working hard on selecting which projects and/or products are actually worth it to be re-released, which (partially to a closed group of users) need to be re-released (for support reasons for example), and which are just not worth it anymore to be re-released.
It however isn’t as simple as saying: Yup… this one goes online [Starts uploading]. Because lots of those projects and/or products where initially designed for either a closed community (mostly TeamXNL), or they where designed as ‘custom order/project’, or they where intended for just a (very) specific target audience. So some of those ‘approved projects and/or products’ need to be updated/adjusted to be usable for a broader (public) audience. One of the examples why this MIGHT be is that they might contain/need components which are very hard to obtain (these days), or the silkscreen for example contains specific information, websites/urls etc for the ‘previous target audience’ or platform.
And when all that is done, we will still need to review the documentation, ‘rebrand it’ for the new platform and/or trademarks, and replace all the URLS for the URLS of the new platform.
So as you might be able to understand, this all will take quite some time. We are doing our best to work as hard a possible, but in the end we will have to ‘sacrifice’ some of the older (less popular) projects to ensure that we will (rather sooner than later) have time for new projects and content again 😊.
I hope that this ‘massive release’ pleases our old user-base, and that it of course will also be appreciated by any new users on the new XNL Future Technologies Platform 😊
